Monte Carlo Boxing: Besputin vs Butaev & Fury vs Sour

Matchroom Boxing returns to Monte Carlo next Saturday.  In the main fight, the Russians Alexander Besputin and Radzhab Butaev duel for the world title after version of the WBA welterweight.  In addition, with Cecilia Braekhus, Hughie Fury, Joe Cordina and Zhilei Zhang other well-known names rise in the ring.  The German colors represent the Bremen Thulasi Tharumalingam.

For the fourth year in a row, Matchroom Boxing is organizing an event in Monaco on Saturday evening.  And, as usual, the fightcard contains strong battles with international participation.  The main battle in the noble Salle Medicin of the Monte Carlo casino is played by undefeated Russians Alexander Besputin (13 (9) -0-0) and Radzhab Butaev (12 (9) -0-0).

Promoter Eddie Hearn won the WBA World Welterweight Championship at the Purse Bid, although none of the two fighters at Matchroom Boxing are under contract.  The 28-year-old top-ranking fighter Besputin won gold as an amateur at the European Championships in 2013 and silver at the European Games 2015 in Baku.  The jib boom in the profile store was able to build on these successes and fight for position 1 of the WBA ranking.  He wants to contest the vacant title of his number 2, 25-year-old compatriot Radzhab Butaev.  The normal boom promoted by Lou DiBella so far lack the prominent names in the battle record.

Nevertheless, "The Python" in the run-up confessed quite confidently and promised "everything possible to do to take advantage of this great opportunity." Even if the Besputin - Butaev heading promises an exciting fight, it is critical to note that the WBA is now also in the welterweight division  her third world champion.  With "Super Champion" Manny Pacquiao and "Gold Champion" Vergil Ortiz jr.  There are already two titleholders in the weight class.

In the second main fight, "First Lady" Cecilia Braekhus (35 (9) -0-0) makes her debut for Matchroom Boxing after almost a year of abstinence from the ring.  In her commitment, the Norwegian stated that she hoped for the big battles.  On Saturday she has to defend her five world championship welterweight titles with Argentinian Victoria Noelia Bustos (19-5-0).

After all, she is a former lightweight IBF World Champion and was able to win the IBF interim title in super light weight in her last fight.  In addition, she was already in the ring with world-class boxers like Katie Taylor and Erica Anabella Farias, where, however, she lost the points on points.  In her first fight in the welterweight division she should therefore enter the rope square as the outsider against the currently strongest woman in the weight class.

Pleasing from the German point of view is the appearance of the light middleweight Thulasi Tharumalingam (6 (4) -0-0).  The 27-year-old Bremer owns both the German and the Qatari citizenship and represented the desert state, among others, at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.  In addition, he punched as an amateur successful for the BSK Seelze in the Bundesliga.  Since the beginning of this year, Tharumalingam has been managed by the renowned management agency MTK Global.  In Monaco he wants to expand his hitherto perfect professional record to seven victories.

The further framework program offers interesting pairings.  British heavyweight Hughie Fury (23 (13) -3-0) wants to return to winning ways after losing to Alexander Povetkin.  For that, he has to clear the way for the Czech Pavel Sour (11 (6) -2-0).  The Chinese heavyweight hopeful Zhilei Zhang (20 (16) -0-0) can now compete with the veteran Ukrainian Andriy Rudenko (32 (20) -4-0) after the cancellation of Russian Sergei Kuzmin.

This might have been remembered by many German boxing fans by his courageous performance against Agit Kabayel, which he was clearly inferior in March this year.  British shooting star Joe Cordina (10 (7) -0-0) is moving down a weight class and wants to beat Mario Enrique Tinoco (18 (13) -5 (1) -4) from Mexico for the vacant WBA Continental title  Secure super featherweight.
