Official: The Premier League starts on June 17th

The Premier League has confirmed the news that the matches will resume on June 17, where all the remaining 92 matches will take place.

A statement was issued this evening, as during the day many media outlets had reported that already 20 clubs had agreed to start.

There is a “new temporary resumption date for the 2019/20 season, on Wednesday 17 June, provided all security requirements are met”.

The Premier League will start with the matches Aston Villa-Sheffield United and Manchester City-Arsenal, which were postponed due to the Carabao Cup final.

The first full round of matches after the explosion of COVID-19 will be on the weekend that starts on Friday, June 19th.

The Premier League statement also confirmed that all 92 matches will be broadcast by existing partners Sky Sports, BT Sport, BBC Sport and Amazon Prime.

Liverpool are well on their way to being declared champions in England, as they are 25 points ahead of second place.
