Club Friendly: Tottenham vs Birmingham City

In just 2 days, Tottenham had 2 friendly matches with 2 champions from Championship: Reading and Birmingham.  Yesterday (28/8), the players under coach Jose Mourinho beat Reading 4-1.

In the match against Reading, ‘rookie’ Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was given the opportunity to play from the beginning by Special Person.  Joe Hart - another 'rookie' also joined the game in the second half. But the 'veterans' still impresses: Dele Alli, Son Heung-min and Erik Lamela.

Compared to Reading, Birmingham is somewhat not as appreciated.  Last season, Birmingham City only finished in 20th place in the Championship, 6 places behind Reading.  Therefore, it is likely that Tottenham will continue to have the opportunity to 'bully' another opponent from the lower division.

After a match against Birmingham, Spurs will play another friendly match: v Watford on September 5.  After that, coach Jose Mourinho and his subordinate players will officially enter the new season.  Their first opponent in the 2020/21 Premier League is Everton (September 13).
