EFL Cup: LTFC vs MUFC

As one of the two big Premier League men to relax in the first round, Man United could not have an impressive victory like rivals Man City.  Because while the blue army defeated Wolves 3-1, they fell to Crystal Palace with 3-1 results, right at home.

It was a match where the MU attack did not create intense pressure and played fast enough, while the defense constantly presented the opponent with the consecutive mistakes of Victor Lindelof.  3 goals lost, 3 times the Swedish midfielder made a mistake because he was too slow and weak.

This weekend, the Red Devils will have another difficult game when they have to be a guest at Brighton.  Coach Solskjaer shared that he would rotate the squad to help the players regain their pace, and fortunately Luton Town appeared in the League Cup as a salvage.

The Norwegian strategist insists that it is necessary to add 4-5 matches, MU players can return with standard performances.  So at the present time, it can be seen as Man United is going through the pre-season phase and is not really ready to join.

The less-played names will have the opportunity to play, while the main kicking pillars need more time to rest.  It is likely that Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba or Marcus Rashford will be sidelined.  Opportunities will be given to 2 ‘rookie’ Donny Van de Beek and Dean Henderson.

On the other side of the front line, Luton Town is reaching unbelievable form.  Club in the English First Division after a friendly win against Wealdstone, continues to have 4 official victories in the Championship and the League Cup.  This team has its own play style, well-organized and undeniable scoring ability, plus confidence in the last series of wins.

But clearly with the level of a Premier League club and correlation of force, MU's second team is still superior to the opponent.  Therefore, any outcome outside of victory will bring a real crisis to the Old Trafford team.

With the preparations for this match and a trip to Brighton, MU needs to work to the maximum in the transfer market in the last two weeks, to bring in at least two more signings - a left-back and  a right-wing midfielder.  Otherwise, it is difficult for them to keep their position in the Top 4 like last season.
