EFL Cup: AstonVilla vs The Potters

In the fourth round of the English League Cup, Aston Villa was very lucky to avoid rivals in the same Premier League but only had to meet Stoke City, the team that currently plays in the English League, but Aston Villa is no stranger to how.  two seasons, they also played in the Championship.

But for now, Aston Villa is in a very different position.  Although they were struggling last season, they successfully relegated, but compared to Stoke, they are still better in many aspects.  Not to mention this match they have home advantage, so they are assessed objectively, just do not let go, Aston Villa can win tickets to continue.

In fact, teams that are not as bad as Aston Villa (ie many relegation opportunities) are often quite "eager" for achievements in the sub-arena such as the Carabao Cup.  Saying far away from Aston Villa itself last season, although it almost dropped, it still reached the final of the League Cup (lost to Man City).

This season, after a spectacular escape, it seems that Dean Smith's teachers and students are more convinced that even entering the Carabao Cup is no problem.  The Birmingham team not only kept the entire frame of last season, but also brought in some promising recruits such as Bertrand Traore (Lyon), Ollie Watkins (Brentford) or Emiliano Martínez (Arsenal).

Aston Villa's performance from the beginning of the 2020/21 season is also impressive: winning in all competitions (2 Premier League matches).  From the end of last season, The Villa was unbeaten in the last 9 games (won 7).
