EFL: Watford vs QPR

Watford vs QPR

As a team last season also playing in the English Premier League, Watford decided to soon return to the highest division in England.  Although he had to say goodbye to a number of pillars in the summer 2020 transfer window, the Vicarage Road home team basically retains a quality team frame compared to the general ground of the First Division.

Thanks to that, things are still going as planned.  Currently, Watford is ranked 4th in the standings with 47 points.  This is an excess position to participate in the playoff round to play in the Premier League next season (from Tuesday to Friday), but if you want to have a direct ticket to the Premier League, Watford needs to be in Top 2. Currently  , they are behind Swansea 2 by 3 points, so there are many competitive opportunities.

Watford's current form is relatively stable: unbeaten in the last 4 consecutive games (won 3).  At Vicarage Road, Xisco's team only lost 1 match from the beginning of the 2020/21 season (won 10 and drew 2).

On the opposite side of the field, QPR just dares to set a successful relegation goal.  Until now, the London team has collected 27 points and ranked 19th out of 24 team in the standings, 4 points behind the red light area.

Although losing far from Watford in terms of real terms, QPR is playing quite well on away field: the last 2 games won.  Further, QPR did not lose the last 5 games away from home. Therefore it is not known that QPR can leave with a score in hand.

In terms of Total Goals, Watford kept a clean sheet for 3 recent consecutive matches.  With QPR, they did not concede the last 2 matches away from home.  Not to mention, the last 4 confrontations between the two sides have no more than 2 goals.
