Apple confirms the slowdown of its older models of phones

Last week we saw a report that Apple may slow down their iPhones when their batteries become obsolete. Rumors suggested that Apple deliberately rejected the iPhone's battery speed in order to prevent the battery life from dropping over time.

Today the company confirmed these allegations and said that the practice will continue with other products in the future.

In a TechCrunch message, Apple said it released a feature for iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and iPhone SE to save battery life over time, and also to prevent the phone from being shut down in cold weather conditions.

The company also confirmed that the iPhone 7 got this feature with the update of iOS 11.2 with more devices to follow.

Replacing the battery can be a solution for some iPhone users who do not want to buy a brand new device.
