Real Madrid has the Arsenal bid for Benzeman on the table

Arsenal has left a bid on the table at the end of December, but is still active in January for French striker Karim Benzema.

The gunners are near the loss of two top stars in the squad, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, as their contract expires in June and are expected to leave in January.

With this situation not at all pleasing, Arsenal is looking to replace them, where the favorite is Real Madrid, Benzema.

The English giant reportedly offered 40m euros to the French striker before Christmas and announced to Real that the proposal is still valid.

Benzema has been a long-term goal for Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger and is seen as an idle option to replace the outgoing striker, Sanchez.

According to Spanish midfielder Don Balon, the London bid is the only one admitted to Benzeman this month, but said they still do not meet President Florentino Perez's 60m euros estimate.

Further complication is the insistence of Real coach Zinedine Zidane that Benzema is a necessary player. Despite support of Zidan, the French striker continues to be criticized by fans this season.

Perez is eager to sell the striker and replace him with Inter captain Mauro Icardi before the end of the winter transfer window.
