Macron tells what he had to convince Trump

French President Emmanuel Macron stated that he was the one who persuaded US President Donald Trump not to withdraw troops from Syria.

He in an interview with French television BFM said that in a telephone conversation Trump had convinced him not to withdraw the army from Syria.

"We persuaded him that it was necessary to stay there. We have a full international legitimacy to act in this context. Three members of the Security Council intervened, "Macron said.

He said the US, France and Great Britain attack on Syria is revenge as the West found evidence that Bashar al-Assad's government has used chemical weapons over Syrian people, and attacks are not an act of war.

According to Macron, the West was forced to act without the permission of the United Nations, due to the continuing blockades that Russia is making to the Security Council.
