Lopetegui: What a thrilling challenge to build a strong team without Ronaldo

10 The departure of Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid has served to fill the energy of Julen Lopetegui's first weeks at the helm of the team, which he intends to build around Gareth Bale.

Speaking before the friendly match against Manchester United, Lopetegui insisted that Bale could lead Real's attack as Ronaldo has done so far.

"When I came, Ronaldo was still Real Madrid, but soon he expressed the desire to leave," Lopetegui said.
"As a coach, it's a thrilling challenge to create a competitive team without Cristiano," he added.

"We are confident that Bale will be a great year and expect a lot from him. We will work with him to help him achieve the culmination, "said the Spanish coach.
