For years, manual transmitting machines have cost less than their automated counterparts.

And then for some cars, such as the Porsche 911, the situation turned into manuals becoming a cost-free option.

According to Cars Direct, manual transmissions are becoming more expensive in certain car segments.

The proof is in numbers, as usual. The new example is Mazda3 of 2019, for example. The car carries a base price of $ 21,895, but if you want one with a six-speed manual then you'll have to pay at least $ 28,395.

You will have to pay an additional $ 4,000 for the new N-Line model to have a manual.

Another victim is Honda Civic LX 2019. His six-speed option has disappeared. Honda is now compelling buyers to pay at least $ 23,170 for a manual transmitter.
