Robert Easter vs Rances Barthelemy

Boxing: Robert Easter - Rances Barthelemy
Sunday (28 April) 02:00 (GMT 0)
In a clash between two ex-champions, Robert Easter Jr. (28, USA) and Rances Barthelemy (32, Cuba) are in contention for the vacant lightweight WBA title. Both fighters have recorded only one defeat in their respective professional opinions so far.

Robert Easter Jr. was still IBF World Champion until July 28 last year, before he was clearly beaten on points against WBC Champion Mikey Garcia that day. Now the 1.80-meter Easter Jr. gets the next chance for the world title.

Against his four years older opponent Rances Barthelemy but should face a hard day's work. Because the Cuban, who is now based in the US, was already in two different weight classes owner of a major World Cup title.

Only in a rematch against Kiryl Relikh Barthelemy had to pull in March 2018 over twelve rounds the short straw. At the first battle - a few months earlier - the Cuban still won unanimously on points. Yesterday, the two opponents faced each other at the official Weigh-In for the last time before their duel.
