Joshua is surprised: I will not be easy against Ruiz

The world heavyweight champion, British Anthony Joshua, believes his next opponent, Andy Ruiz Jr, is at the championship level and added that he did not underestimate it at all.

Unbeaten Anthony Joshua will debut in the United States of America, with the fight against Andy Ruiz Jr on June 1, at Madison Square Garden in New York.

His opponent's ability has been questioned by many, but Joshua believes that Ruiz is a wonderful opponent.

"It's not about how you look - it's a skill, skill," said the 29-year-old, who holds the IBF, WBA and WBO titles.

"What matters at the bottom is your heart and your head. Andy has proven that he has these, he can fight and boxbox. It only matters. I think Andy is a wonderful challenger and will bring his best on June 1st. "

Ruiz Jr, born in California, has lost only one career in the career, out of 33 developed. This defeat he suffered in the fight against Joseph Parker in Auckland in 2016.

He defeated Alexander Dimitrenko on April 20th. In gauges for this match, he was 7.7 kg heavier than Joshua in his last rounds, in the victory against Alexander Povetkin in September.

But the American is ten centimeters shorter than Joshua, and this makes the British take the lead in extending the wings.

"Everything I've heard has been that I will destroy it. But he can have boxing and hands. He caused many problems to the world champion Joseph Parker. Andy is at the champion level without a doubt and I have not underestimated at all, "added Joshua.
