EPL: Burnley vs Tottenham

Losing to the unknown team Mura at the Europa Conference League playground, the Tottenham players did not have the best psychological state before the clash with Burnley. However, in front of an opponent who is struggling in the group holding the red light, plus the predestined confrontation in the past, it is clear that Tottenham is still strong enough to have all 3 points to leave.

Burnley has just had an unbelievable 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace at home. The match that coach Sean Dyche’s students played very well in attack but weakly defended. Not long ago they also drew Chelsea and beat Brentford to raise the unbeaten streak to 3. In the last 5 rounds, Burnley only won 1, but only lost 1 to Man City, which was too strong. Of course, the draw too much made Burnley not get the necessary breakthrough on the chart.

After 12 matches played in the Premier League this season, Burnley only won 1, drew 6 and lost 5. With only 9 points, the home team Turf Moor is in the group holding the red light in 18th place. Distance to the safe area is 2 points, but to level that number, Burnley needs to play more explosively. At home, Burnley won 2, drew 3 and lost only 1 in the last 6 visits. However, their upcoming opponent will be Tottenham, the team they have lost in all 3 previous encounters. Therefore, the challenge for Burnley in the upcoming match is extremely big even though they are playing at home.

The only goal of striker Harry Kane was not enough to help Tottenham avoid a 1-2 defeat when as a guest of Mura in the fifth round of the Europa Conference League group stage. The match where the “Rooster” was in a difficult position when he conceded a goal first and defender Ryan Sessegnon also had to receive a red card in the first half. Currently, Tottenham is still in 2nd place in the table, but is only level on points with Vitesse ranked behind. The fact that the story has not been resolved in the continental playground makes Tottenham unable to fully focus on the English Premier League arena.

In the last round, coach Antonio Conte’s side had an emotional comeback at home against Leeds. In the last 5 rounds they won 2, drew 1 and also lost 2. Currently, Tottenham are in 7th place with 19 points, 1 point behind the European Cup group. On the away front, Tottenham only won 1/5 of the recent trip away from home. Therefore, the Burnley clash is an opportunity for Tottenham to prove its strength. Remember, the last 2 times as a guest of Burnley, Tottenham have had the joy of winning.
