EPL: Aston Villa vs Leicester

After two consecutive victories under new coach Steven Gerard, Aston Villa recently returned to the ground when they lost to Man City at home. However, before the power of the defending champion, it is quite understandable for the Villa Park team to be empty-handed. In the upcoming round, they continue to stay at home to welcome Leicester, before the opponent is no longer themselves this season, 3 points is not too difficult for Aston Villa.

Despite anticipating the difficulties when having to welcome Man City, they are in very high form. However, Aston Villa could not avoid a 1-2 defeat right at Villa Park in the previous round. In fact, Aston Villa played with great effort and if they were a little bit luckier, they could win 1 point to leave the field. Under coach Steven Gerard, it is clear that Aston Villa is making a complete makeover compared to before. Despite losing to Man City, it should be remembered that Aston Villa have continuously defeated Crystal Palace with Brighton.

Before the former Liverpool midfielder came to Villa Park, this team was in crisis with 5 consecutive defeats. Currently, Aston Villa has climbed to 13th place in the table with 16 points. The distance of 6 points to the group holding the red light is quite a safe number for this team to continue to break through. Remember that Aston Villa is entering a period of reform under coach Steven Gerard and they still have a lot of problems to improve. Before welcoming Leicester, this team is still very careful because they have lost 2/4 of the last home matches.

Reaching out to become a giant of English football over the past 5 years, however, this season Leicester have really lost themselves. Over a total of 14 rounds, they won 5, drew 4 and also received 5 bitter fruits. This is quite a bad achievement and makes “Foxes” only get 10th place on the chart with 19 points. They are 4 points behind the European Cup group and have not shown any positive signs in the way they play. In the last round, this team struggled to draw Southampton 2-2 at this opponent’s field. In the last 5 rounds, Leicester only won 1 match against Watford, the rest drew 2 and lost 2.

From a very disciplined team, Leicester conceded 25 goals in the Premier League this season. This is the worst number among the top 16 teams in the current standings. Leicester’s only bright spot is in the Europa League playground, where they lead Group C with 8 points after 5 matches. But in the last match they have to be Napoli’s guest and if they lose it is likely that the “Foxes” will also be eliminated from the Europa League game. Therefore, teachers and coaches Brendan Rodgers must have reasonable calculations, because after the clash with Aston Villa they will have a trip to Italy full of wind.
