FA: Tottenham vs Morecambe

The team playing in League One, Morecambe will have a trip to Tottenham’s holy place in the third round of the FA Cup. In front of a “Spurs” that is far superior in terms of qualifications, there is no door for the away team to make an earthquake after the upcoming trip.

Tottenham have just received a 0-2 defeat as a guest at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge in the first leg of the semi-final first leg of the English League Cup. With this result, although there is still a second leg match in hand, it is difficult for the “Spurs” to turn the tide. Before losing to Chelsea, Tottenham played very well with a series of 5 unbeaten matches (draw 2, win 3). In the English Premier League, Tottenham maintained a stable performance with a series of 8 unbeaten matches (draw 3, win 5). It was that performance that pulled this team to 6th place in the rankings, in which they brought back 33 points through 18 rounds.

With only 2 points behind Arsenal’s 4th place but still playing 2 matches less, the door for Tottenham to win tickets to next season’s Champions League is extremely open. At home, Tottenham is playing well with only 1 loss and 6 wins in the last 8 pick-ups. Statistics show that Tottenham are unbeaten in the last 8 matches in the FA Cup. This team also scored at least 4 goals or more in the last 3 matches in the FA Cup. Therefore, when the opponent is Just Morecambe, who is far less qualified, there is no reason to prevent Tottenham from heading for a bold victory.

Away team Morecambe is currently playing at the League One playground, which is equivalent to the English Division 3. Not only are they playing in a league that is far less powerful than the Premier League, Morecambe is also having a hard time in this arena and is in great danger of being relegated. After 24 rounds in League One this season, Morecambe only brought back 23 points and is currently ranked 21st in the rankings. If it is not possible to improve the current ranking, of course Morecambe will have to play in League Two next season.

In terms of form, Morecambe has only won the last 1/5 matches in all competitions. Before defeating Doncaster with a score of 4-3 last weekend, Morecambe went through a series of 4 games without winning (draw 1, lose 3). Statistics show that Morecambe only lost 1/5 of the last match in the FA Cup. However, the opponents they faced were very weak in strength, typically Newport or, most recently, Buxton. When the next stop is called Tottenham, it is difficult for Morecambe to win tickets to the round of 16 of the FA Cup this season.
