Boxing: Jaime Munguia vs Tijuana

The undefeated former world champion and current WBO middleweight intercontinental champion, the Mexican Jaime Munguía (38-0, 30 KOs), will be defending his title, against the American contender, D’Mitrius Ballard (21-0-1, 13 KOs). ), next Saturday, February 19, at the iconic Plaza Monumental de Playas de Tijuana, in Tijuana, Mexico.

The fight, which is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions, in association with Zanfer, will be televised on DAZN.

Both star fighters overcame their challenge with the official Roman, registering Jaime Munguía 159 pounds and D’Mitrius Ballard 159.5 pounds.

Ballard is a 28-year-old contender who had a tremendous amateur career, capturing multiple national championships. Since 2013, the Temple Hills, Maryland native has climbed the world rankings, fighting the likes of Victor “Sina” Fonseca, Yamaguchi Falcao and Alan “Amenaza” Campa.

In his last presentation, Ballard defeated Mexican Paul Valenzuela Jr. (26-11, 17 Kos) by unanimous decision in ten rounds, last November in Anaheim, California.
