Australia and England are preparing for one of the largest cricket competitions called The Ashes.

It is a special series of games between England and Australia, and one of the oldest in the sport.

The two countries meet toughly every 2 years, with the winners gaining one of the most famous (and smallest) trophies in sport: the Ashes urn.

It takes place alternately in the UK and Australia, this time Australia is the host. Both countries played a series of 5 test matches, each lasting up to 5 days.

The 72nd series kicks off at The Gabba in Brisbane on 8, Dec, Wednesday.
