On Saturday there will be the “Heaviest Boxing Match in History”! The protagonists Eddie Hall and Hafthor Bjornsson weigh almost 300 kg.
Eddie Hall and Hafthor Bjornsson have each lost around 50kg since being named Worlds Strongest Man in different years. Next Saturday, the years of fede between the two muscle mountains will culminate in the “Heaviest Boxing Match in History”, which will be held in – how could it have been otherwise – Dubai.
The rivals’ battle was set to take place last year, but Hall sustained a bicep injury. Bjornsson, known as “The Mountain” from the HBO hit series Game of Thrones, completed a show fight against professional boxer Steven Ward over a year ago. He was even able to knock him down, but in the end no winner was announced.
That will change. Both protagonists have announced a KO for tomorrow. The arch-rivals surprised at the official weigh-in: both Eddie Hall and Hafthor Bjornsson each lost around 50 kg! While the taller Bjornsson weighed 152 kg (205 kg maximum weight at Strongest Man times), Eddie “The Beast” Hall weighed slightly less at 142.2 kg (197 kg comparison value).
Both will step into the ring at the Duty Free Tennis Stadium in Dubai tomorrow, Saturday. The fight between the two, which is carried out according to normal boxing rules over 6x 3 minutes.
