WBO middleweight champion Savannah Marshall and Femke Hermans meet at a boxer event tonight in Newcastle.
Marshall and Hermans ready for WBO world championship fight
Boxxer promoter Benjamin Shalom, who is currently working on a fight between Chris Eubank and Kell Brook, is hosting tonight at the Newcastle Arena in the UK. The two welterweights Florian Marku (10-0-1, 6 KOs) and Chris Jenkins (23-4(1)-3, 8 KOs) are in the second main fight of the evening.
For both it is about the IBF International title. At the official weigh-in both were in the welterweight limit. While Marku weighed in at 66.5 kg, Jenkins weighed in at 66.2 kg.
In the WBO middleweight championship match that night, ‘Silent Assassin’ Savannah Marshall (11-0, 9 KOs) and Femke Hermans (12-3, 5 KOs) collide. Marshall, who has held the WBO title once held by German boxer Christina Hammer since defeating Hannah Rankin in 2020, is considered a heavy-hitting powerhouse. The 30-year-old has only had to make ends meet twice so far. Challenger Femke Hermans is a former Belgian champion, WBO world champion in super medium and secured the EBU European title in December 2020. The 32-year-old Belgian has been in 4 World Championship fights so far.
