Boxing: Katie Taylor vs Serrano




The undisputed world champion (WBC, WBO, WBA and IBF) of the lightweight, the Irish Katie Taylor, will be exhibiting all her titles, before the unified world champion of the featherweights (WBC and WBO), the American Amanda Serrano, in the star this Saturday, April 30, at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Taylor and Serrano are poised to make history as they will become the first fighters to headline “The World’s Most Famous Arena” in its 140-year history in the process. Irish favorite Taylor (20-0, 6 KOs) puts her supremacy of the 135 pounds at stake for the sixth time in the Big Apple and does so against the seven-weight champion Serrano (42-1-1, 30 knockouts).

Both fighters met at the official weigh-in this Friday. Within the weigh-in ceremony, the Puerto Rican weighed 60.59 kilos, while the Irish woman stepped on the scale and weighed 61.05 kilos.

This fight was scheduled to take place in May 2020, in Manchester, before the Covid-19 intervened and ruined all the plans and negotiations.
