EPL: Wolves vs Brighton

Wolves will host Brighton to Molineux in the encounter in round 35 of the Premier League. Although the form is down, but with the goal of 3 points to continue to compete for the ticket to the European Cup. Believe that “Wolf” will make a story before “Seagull” like the two previous encounters.

Wolves’ hopes of a top-six finish have waned in recent weeks, after they lost three of their last four Premier League matches. All three of these defeats have come against teams below them, with a 2-3 at home defeat to Leeds United, followed by 0-1 defeats to Newcastle and Burnley. Fortunately for the “Wolves” is that the opponents ranked above them have not played really well recently. Thus, Wolves are currently 8th in the rankings, just 3 points behind West Ham in 7th and 5 points behind Man United in 6th place.

However, Wolves have the advantage of playing less than West Ham and Man United, 1 and 2 matches respectively. Coach Bruno Lage’s men are without a draw, after winning 8 and losing 7 of their 15 matches in 2022. It must be admitted that Wolves have lost the defensive spirit, which was their strong point at the beginning. season and the “Wolves” only had 1 clean sheet in the last 5 matches. Wolves were unbeaten in the last 6 matches against Brighton (draw 4, win 2). In which, both victories came in the last matches.

Brighton are winless in their last two matches. After having sublime performances to defeat two North London teams, Arsenal and Tottenham, Brighton lost to Man City with a score of 0-3, and drew 2-2 against Southampton. Coach Graham Potter’s team has now drawn 14 matches this season, a record equal to Crystal Palace. The division of points too much makes Brighton not have too good results. Currently, the away team has dropped to 11th place, 8 points behind Wolves.

Brighton had run out of combat goals and they were no longer too interested in fighting in the remaining 4 matches. Brighton have a pretty good away record this season, accumulating 25 points after 17 matches away from home, more than names like ManUnited, West Ham and Leicester. Remember Brighton only got 16 points when playing at Amex Stadium. The problem is that Brighton have only won 1 of their last 11 visits to Molineux, a 2-0 win in April 2017 when both teams played in the Championship.
