Boxing: Charlo vs Castano

After the first fight of the two ended in a draw, it comes to the second fight between Jermell Charlo and Brian Castano. It’s about the WBC, IBF, WBO and WBA Super Champion title.

The second edition of the Super Welterweight Championship bout will be held this Saturday at Dignity Health Sports Park in Los Angeles, California. Jermell Charlo (34-1-1, 18 KOs) and Brian Castano (17-2, 12 KOs) met 10 months ago at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, that fight ended in a tie after 12 tense rounds.

The second edition of this fight was supposed to take place a few months ago, but Castano had (allegedly) suffered a slight tear in his right bicep, which is why he had to cancel the fight at the time. But even then, Jermell Charlo Castano called a liar and publicly insulted him.

Brian Castano now says he wants to punish Charlo for publicly calling him a liar. Despite this, Jermell Charlo continues to claim that he has footage he saw of Castano training shortly after their second super welterweight unification bout was postponed as the evidence he needs to prove everything he is said is also true.

“I mean, he was still in training camp and running,” Charlo said recently. “He was still swinging that arm that was supposed to be injured. If you have a bicep tear, you can hardly move your arm. You all follow him, you all watch him. You watch him more than I do. This motherf….. tore a bicep and he ran outside waving his arm and pretending to hit his arm. Come on – stop the bullshit! Something is not correct. Something is wrong with this guy.”

However, Castano’s team provided the WBO with medical records proving he was injured. However, Charlo claimed that he did not see these documents.
