Boxing: Ramirez vs Bösel

For Dominic Bösel (Freyburg) tonight is about everything! The 32-year-old SES light heavyweight will face ex-super middleweight world champion Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez in Ontario (California, USA). Yesterday both boxers faced each other at the official weigh-in.

In the “Lion’s Den” Dominic Bösel (32-2-0, 12 Ko’s) is reaching for the stars next night. The 32-year-old SES boxer faces a mammoth task! Because the Freyburger will meet one of the best boxers in the world – Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez (43-0-0, 29 KO’s).

Before his big US debut, the protégé of coach Georg Bramowski is considered a blatant outsider. It is obvious that Dominic Bösel, who was already the IBO and WBA interim champion, has nothing to lose in that upcoming fight. Nevertheless, Bösel prepared meticulously with coach Bramowski for several weeks.

The German light heavyweight struggled with countless sparring sessions until the very end. Bösel has to “go beyond his limits” (quote: Georg Bramowski) against Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez, who has been unbeaten in 43 professional fights, in order to have a real chance.

Gilberto Ramirez was already the WBO super middleweight world champion – in 2016 he clearly dethroned Arthur Abraham on points. Since then, the 30-year-old Mexican has continued his winning streak. Now “Zurdo”, who is already celebrated as a boxing hero in Mexico, has arrived in the light heavyweight division. Ramirez wants to secure the next world championship belt there.
